Thanks for the article but its a bit confusing.
It says to remove anything suspicious n the task manager but how am I meant to know what’s suspicious or not? Its all gobbledygook.
When I do any search I get a cool-new-tab-theme redirects my search through a different search engine.
If I do any google search from google.com the chrome browser immediately just shuts down.
I need to know exactly what to delete.

One of my chrome extensions (Video Speed Contoller, by saveliiiaredakov) ended up being this type of malware. It changed by default search browser from my desktop to coolnewtabtheme.com, then redirected all searches to Yahoo. I downloaded Malwarebyte but however it did not find the problem. Only when I went through each of the extensions, I found that the above extension was causing the issue. I removed this from both my google chrome browser and edge. I followed majority of the insturctions above and did not find any other traces of it. Is it safe to say that it is removed off my computer completely? if not what else can I do?
